Teach A Friend Day (Dubois County)

Post by Justin Rumbach » Fri Oct 24, 2008 7:43 am

Hey guys - we are celebrating Teach A Friend To Homebrew Day a week late this year and will be getting together on Sunday, November 9th in Jasper. I wanted to invite anyone from your club who might want to make the trip up. One of our members, Bob Sunderman, is hosting us again this year. Bob owns a homebrew shop out of his home and is offering 20% off all his beer stuff (including carboys and bottles and stuff) to everybody who comes out. There will be plenty of food and beer so come up to hang if you can!

From our "official" release >

Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day is an annual event that celebrates the joy of homebrewing. The Dubois County Suds Club, a local homebrewers group, is hosting a brewing demonstration on Sunday, November 9th from noon to 5 p.m. to celebrate. Please come join us at Bob Sunderman's home (R.O. Homebrew & Wine Supply), 3274 Bittersweet Drive in Jasper for a day of brewing. Club members will brew multiple batches of beer, using both all-grain and extract brewing methods.

Call 827-3497 with any questions.
For everyone I haven't met, I used to live in Evansville and was a member of OVHA. After moving home to Jasper, and missing having good friends to brew with, I decided to try to start my own club. I am happy to say that I have been the president of the Dubois County Suds Club since 2006 (although I still miss my OVHA buddies)!

I'm planning to go & I can drive. We may be able to squeeze 3 in the back seat. Peter has told me he would like to go.

Jack, if you've got a vacancy, I would like to make the trip. What time should we meet at your place?

It starts at noon (11 our time) so let's leave my house about 10:00am. It will take just over an hour to get there.

I have not heard anymore from Peter so as of now it is only the 2 of us.

Jack and I made the trip to Jasper yesterday to visit with the Dubois County Suds Club during their Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day. It was a cold and windy day, but we hardly noticed with the warm reception and good beers being served.

Thanks to Justin for the invitation and the chance to share homebrews with a great bunch of fellow homebrewers.
