My kids brought me to the Washington Brewers Festival. There are 60+ breweries represented. What a thoughtful Fathers Day gift.

Cheers!

Hacienda has all 12 oz bottles of craft beer for $2.5o on Sunday. Just had 2 Victory Hop Wallops. Can't go cold turkey after a weekend of beer drinking at the Brewers' Cup in Indy. Congrats to The OVHA winners.

Went to PJ's Oyster bar last night and they had a big banner Tampa local beer Gator Wheat Ale.
So it's local craft beer I thought I would try it at $3 a glass.
Waiter told me 3 time when I ordered the Tampa local beer that it wasn't a beer it is an 'ALE'
OK , OK ,OK
When it came It looked clearer than my Dowweiser, Asked I thought it was a wheat beer I sorta of expected a little cloudy beer. It an ALE I was told.
OK
It was an ALE it tasted like a pale ale and I smiled and thanked the waiter. I hope there are other craft beers in this town.

The Oysters were great.

Unless you get extremely bored, avoid the Tampa Yuengling Brewery Tour; worst brewery tour ever. I actually like Yuengling. My wife and I went last year. The brewery is an old Schlitz brewery that was bought by Yuengling to increase production for the southeast.

When the guide said that their beer was made from Barley, Hops, and Yeast, I asked her what the railroad tank cars full of corn syrup were doing parked outside. She then added that to the ingredient list. ;-)

Jolly Pumpkin in Traverse City for supper. Bam Biere, Bam Biere Noire, Oro de Calabaza, and another I can't pronounce. Subtle sour, very dry and drinkable beers all.
North Point brewing is also on tap. Diabolical IPA, Siren Amber, Vicious Weat IPA, and Archangel. Good to be in Michigan!
Picked up a Michigan beer guide listing 95 breweries/ brewpubs....this nay take a while.

Hereford & Hops, Escondido, MI. Upper Penninsula. Best beer is Redemption. An American IPA not to be confused with Russian River beer of same name.
Nasty beer of the day... The Russian Imperial Stout. Under attenuated, and over hopped. Think thick sweet black hop syrup. Possibly could be used as a black IPA extract.
