BIG Winterfest 2011, Indy-Saturday, January 29

Post by Chris Norrick » Tue Jan 18, 2011 12:30 pm

If you want to go sign up here and list what beer you've got. I'm still trying to get all the details and get our club on the list.

We usually just take the small tap box and a few beers. I might have room and board if we want to stay the night. The hours are expanded this year. It runs from 1-6 p.m. our time. We could probably drive back with a sober driver.

I can drive too if needed.
I've still got a keg of OVHA old ale, and have about a half keg of Brown Cow, an Australian Red ale, and a fresh wet hop amber that I'm kegging in a couple of days. Pick and choose if you want.
You gonna buy one, or be one?

I would have liked to attend like last year, but my bro-in-law's 50th b-day is Saturday. Maybe next year.

I had my gallbladder out this morning, and Doc said I couldn't go (but if you still need more help he said he would go in my place). Sorry was looking forward to it, it is always a lot of fun and good beer up there.

Hope to be at the meeting on Wednesday.

Here's what I'll bring:

How Now Brown Cow, Northern English Brown Ale, 6.3% ABV, 39 IBU's, 1.063 OG, 2010 Indiana Brewer's Cup Best of Show winner. Moderate malty ale with light caramel, and toffee notes. Dark fruits with a bit of chocolate complement the sweet, but dry finish.

Red Headed Basterd Wet Hop Ale, American Amber Ale, 6.5% ABV, 47 IBU's???, 1.057 OG, Loads of American 'C' hops. An entire years harvest of Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, and Columbus mixed in the brewing process like his daddy didn't care about him from initial strike water to dry hopping. Is it an amber ale, or is it a scrawny IPA?

OVHA Bourbon Barrel Olde Ale, Barrel Aged Old Ale, 7.8% ABV, 27 IBU's, 1.072 OG, 2nd place 2010 Indiana Brewer's Cup Homebrew Club only competition. Sweet, malty old ale melds with prime Kentucky bourbon. Aged in the barrel after fermentation for 3 months.
You gonna buy one, or be one?

If you can't, I'm sure someone from the club will step up to take up the slack. What a swell group of guy they are!

Payment is 6 homebrews.

Are you East or West side? My schedule is crazy at times but if there if you get in a pinch and I can zip in to help sometime let me know. You don't need to pay me in beer though, I just know what it's like to need help now and then. ;)

Thanks Jimmy;
I'm east side of Newburgh, but my son is coming home this weekend and I'm hoping he has time to help me.
If not I will shout.
