Double Brew day! Twice the fun! Twice the beer! The wife went shopping with her mom on Black Friday so I thought I would brew a black beer, and one more German Pilsener to boot!

#1 Sweet Stout

10lbs. Pale Malt, Maris Otter
1 lb. Black Patent Malt
12 oz. Crystal Malt - 80L
8 oz. Pale Chocolate Malt

1.5 oz East Kent Goldings @ 60 mins

1 lb. Lactose @ 20 mins before flame out.

Set it in the basement @ 68°.

#2 German Pilsener, pg 58 of the BCS (Myburger)

10.8 lbs Pilsener Malt

1.0 oz Pearl @ 60 min
0.5 Hallertau @ 15 min
0.5 Haller tau @ 1 min

90 minute mash 147°, 90 minute boil.

23 grams Saflager S-23 yeast

Set the chilly willy at it's lowest setting 50°. Change the ice everyday for 4 weeks. Suffer for your beer !!

What a great day. My dogs were barkin' but I got 10 gallons in my fermenters and if you have been keeping score at home, add that to the 10 gallons bottle conditioning and Dec is going to be a good month. I should have a nice variety to share at the holiday party!

cheers!

Welcome to the iron man brew club. If you don't brew more than 1 beer your just playing around. If your going to say your going to brew on a day... brew that day...not just a half day. It gets easier the more double brews you do.
I just got my most productive day the last time I brewed. 4 batches set. A Belgian partigyle-golden strong/blonde, an oatmeal stout, and a watermelon wheat. But it takes two brew setups to brew 2 different batches at the same time.
You gonna buy one, or be one?
.....I'm gonna be one!

Double Brew Day today.

First up - Helles Bock, 1.065, 27 IBUs
Second - Target Irish Red, 1.057, 23.6 IBUs

Sore back and tired arms, but definitely worth it.

Just bottled a "leftovers" brown ale made with the same stuff as Hazelnut, just using the 0.25 lb of each of the dark malts left over from the original. Should be pretty tasty.

Also have a standard IPA going, looks pretty good, will bottle that in a week or so, I think.

Have an amber lager on the burner right now, so far it's going great.

Lotta beer to drink, guess I need to get on that, eh?

It was in the fermenter. A blond Bombshell (Belgian Blond Ale).
Brewed it on Dec. 27 kegged it on DEC 31.2010.
Yes i know it was quick but it blew the top off my bucket after 2 days.

This was my second all grail, the first was Nov.6 teach a friend to brew day (American ale). Family and friends loved it.

would like to brew sometime in January.
