Now if those same scientists could turn their attention to creating hop cones the size of pineapples, and barley kernels the size of ears of corn!
No need to worry about yeast. The planet is covered with it already.

Distributors are the middlemen trying to stick it in further to both customers and producers, while preventing competition at the same time.

Re: A place for interesting beer-related articles.
I don't know if this is interesting or a gimmick but I saw a commercial for Miller Lite now with a Vortex neck bottles.
http://www.examiner.com/craft-beer-in-a ... tex-bottle
Perhaps the most interesting—and arguably the most inane—is the new Vortex Bottle being introduced for Miller Lite. According to a report from Brandweek, the MillerCoors rep told distributors that the bottle has specially designed grooves inside the neck that “create a vortex as you’re pouring the beer,” and said that the brand’s goal is to “create buzz and excitement and give consumers another reason to choose Miller.” No explanation of how the “vortex” created by the grooves improves the beer in any way;
Will we be able to use these bottles for competition?

Re: A place for interesting beer-related articles.
If there are actually grooves in the bottle, I do believe that will help Miller Lite taste better. The groves should cause more turbulence, creating more nucleation sites for all that co2 to come out of solution more, allowing the little malt flavor that is in the beer to come through more.

You can, but they will "accidentally" get pushed off the edge of the table.Don wrote:Will we be able to use these bottles for competition?
