SWIRCA Craftbrewers Fest: August 21

Post by jefrey3 » Mon Jul 12, 2010 6:10 pm

SWIRCA needs a list of beer for the program. We don't need everything. Just a good representation. I know we will have the 2nd place barrel aged old ale.

Also, does anyone want to participate in the radio station tasting? I will be meeting with the DJ at Turoni's, but I don't have a date. I think we need to have the barrel aged for sure.

It would be great to have some award winning beers to include.

I'll bring a corny of Barrel Aged Old Ale if we have any left from WSSC. Also have Scottish ale and Old Ale. Someone else will probably have to bring an additional corny of Barrel Aged.

I'll have the State Fair Brewer's Cup Best of Show winning "How Now Brown Cow", and 2nd place Hef's Honey Hefeweizen. In addition I can bring items not entered in the state fair: Tax Day Tea Blonde ale, VH Cider (very hard cider 11.2% ABV), and non-alcoholic root beer. This list can be parred down if need be to allow everyone that wants a beer on tap to do so.

I can bring samples, and talk for the radio tasting. Just let me know when.

Is the club going to organize a training class for those that need to renew their servers permit? I thought this was talked about before at previous meetings by Charlie.

I just received my renewal on Thursday (sent it in early June)

It was labeled volunteer and marked
"Valid for service benefiting non-profit organization".
I have a response in February from the ATC and they said if you are not employed you are not required to take the training.

Somebody will need to bring barrel aged old ale because the last of my keg went to West Side Sportsman's Club. Should be plenty more out there somewhere.
