Of course MECA swept that category with Mr. Ballenger taking two of those spots. GRRR.

With that score you can have one of my ribbons. ;)

If it makes you feel better, my oak aged, 12% Zinfandel Honey Ale scored a 25. LOL
MECCA got 2 of the fruit beer places as well I believe.

Let's face it, MECCA makes good beer. They understand the styles and what the judges are looking for. Most of them are BJCP judges themselves, which I am sure gives them an edge. Of course, they are not allowed to judge in any category that they have an entry. The organizers of the Brewer's Cup do a good job of ensuring a fair contest. It does get old having them win so many ribbons each year, but they are fellow home brewers and do work hard for their glory. You gotta give them some credit.

They definitely have a love for the sport and they brew a LOT! I am not criticizing them at all, envious,maybe...
I think as homebrewers we have learned to appreciate what we have representing our state and we obviously have some top notch talent. That is why the brewers cup has become one of the largest events in the country.

I never meant to act like Mecca was the problem. ;)
Sorry if I came across that way.

Yeah that was nice, I also got one from Ft Wayne too but they don't have web order. Wasn't sure if Great fermentations had one. If anyone travels to Ft. Wayne, they can have mine. Just let me know and I'll bring it to the meeting.

John, did you get any details on when you would be brewing the BOS at Broad Ripple Brewpub? That is eligible for entry in the GABF Pro-Am competition as well!

I was talking with Kevin at the craft brewers fest in Indy Saturday. It's basically open to any time I have available. I was going to see what the club wanted to do as far as scheduling a road trip up for the tapping party. Traditionally the BOS beer has been made near the holidays.
It's a recipe that will go great with their 7 barrel system.
