Brewer's Cup Judging, July 9 & 10, Indy State Fair Grounds

Post by JohnD » Tue Jun 01, 2010 6:10 pm

Since the Brew B Q in Indy is the first day we can submit entries for the Brewer's Cup, is there anyone else besides Don who needs beer taken to enter? I am going and would be glad to take riders or beer. Also, who wants to steward for the Brewer's Cup?? Normally, this is one Friday session and 2 Saturday sessions. :beer6 :beer2

I really really want to go but there is a slight chance I can't. If I don't I'd beg for help getting the beers up. I want to at least make the competition this year.

I want to enter this year. I would need someone to deliver my beer also.
I want to go to the judging. but I'm trying to figure out my availability yet. What is the usual Fri-Sat schedule? Leave? Return? Stay???
You gonna buy one, or be one?

Registered my beer and I wasn't sure how to sign up for steward as I couldn't find a link. I just registered to judge with zero experience and listed the categories I entered. I assume that's how it's done. Is there any way of getting 1 extra dinner ticket?

Friday judging usually starts at 6 PM and Saturday starts 8 AM. Stewards can register for Fri., Sat., or both. I have not received any info about stewaed registration yet, but will post it when I get it. We will stay in Indy Fri. nite and Sat. nite and return Sunday AM. No plan yet on accomodations. Since every person who enters gets 2 banquet tickets, I'm sure we will have some unused extra tickets

Cool, thanks a bunch. I would imagine we'll day trip on Saturday. I really would be grateful if I can get someone's extra ticket. Too far to drive to leave someone out. Do you know what time the dinner typically ends?

I'm interested in stewarding, so post the info when you get it. Still checking the calendar.

I have registered to judge all 3 sessions. Jim and I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express downtown last year. No blood stained bathrooms and a free breakfast.

I guess you don't want me to make reservations for you this year?

My uncle's house is open to all. He'll be out of town that weekend so we have run of the place. Two beds two baths and lots and lots of couches. My tickets are available as stewards and judges don't need tickets.

Don't forget that we will be taking up Brewer's Cup entries this Saturday! Go to http://www.brewerscup.org/enter to register online, pay, and review all rules. Each bottle needs an entry bottle label rubberbanded to the bottle. Please include a copy of your entry form with your bottles.

If you want them transported for free up to Indy this Saturday (June 12) get them to John Dippel, Dwayne Delaney, Kenny Lucas, or myself by Friday. I'll be home Wednesday evening, Thursday evening, and all day Friday. 5209 Warren Dr, Evansville IN 47710.

Or entries can be shipped/delivered to Sunking Brewing Co up to June 26.

p.s. Don't forget to include the OVHA on your entry form. There is a club competition as well!

Good luck!

Here is the info on steward registration for the Brewer's Cup. Judging is Fri and Sat, July 9 & 10. Stewards are in charge of presenting the beers that are being judged to the judges in an ordered, anonymous fashion, recording scores, and making sure the judges have necessary supplies during the contest. No experience is necessary.
Friday session starts at 7:30 PM and Saturday session starts at 10AM. Stewards need to be there at 6 PM Fri and 8:30 AM Sat.
If anyone is interested, email John Morrical, the Head Steward, at jmorrica@sbcglobal.net
