2010 Alzheimer's Assoc. Event

Post by Chris Alvey » Wed Jan 27, 2010 2:23 pm

I heard from Christina and the Alzehimer's Assoc. will be holding their Making Memories fundraiser event in April this year (vs. June last year.)

Here are the facts thus far:

- The event is Friday, April 9th from 7 to 10 p.m.
- It will be held at the Vectren's Headquarteers downtown
- We will not be able to bring the cart due to space issues. I asked about a jockey box setup and she seems to think this would be cool. Instead of our rolling cart, they are envisioning us having the jockey box sitting on the table with kegs underneath and table skirting, etc. Jack, she would like Turoni's and us to share a table like last year if you'll be participating.

Just the thought of me bringing my beer into our building excites me, it's in our employee manual that you cannot have alcohol on the property...
I wonder if they will fire me if I get drunk that night??

Usually depends if you blow the boss, or donate an obscene amount of money to their charity.... In which case you'll get a promotion.

...and the news reports that hiring is down. I guess the secret us out: you've gotta give a little, to get a little.
But, thanks for the job offer Jimmy, unfortunately, I've not fallen into hard times with my female boss.

I guess I need to donate because my boss is a Baptist Minister.

Talked to Christina yesterday, everything is in order. She is having computer problems and is going to email me exactly where we need to meet-up. I will post here as soon as I know more.

I received this last night. PLEASE POST HERE IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING AS THEY ARE REQUIRING A LIST OF NAMES TO GET IN. Sorry for this being last-minute but I posted this as soon as I saw. I have our kegging rig and Turoni's beers. I can be contacted at 812.454.4897. Please call me ASAP so I can get this to her.

tl;dr : Aztar has something to do with this and is providing servers, the need your name if you're coming, 3:30 or after parking lot off court street

----

From Christina -

It looks like you were correct and Aztar does have to have their bartenders serving your beer. I would still like for you and your group to be present to explain the beers and have them displayed on the dry erase board. I hope that’s okay and apologize for not realizing this would be an issue any earlier.

The guests will have the pilsner tasting glasses again and I will make sure there is a pitcher of water/bucket at the tasting area for any guests that want their glasses rinsed (not sure anyone did last year J).

Can you give me the names of everyone you know for sure is coming to help you? I need this for 2 reasons. First, Vectren is pretty strict on knowing any and everyone that enters their building and we have to present them with a list of names in advance, with a second at the end of the night. Second, if anyone arrives Friday that isn’t on our list, they won’t be able to say “I’m with OVHBA and get in.” We have officially sold OUT of tickets and seats, so there isn’t any room for that. J Sorry, we are just tight on space and security this year. Next year, we are moving to a much bigger venue! J

We will be ready for you any time after 3:30 and yes, it’s the building on Riverside. You’ll need to enter the parking lot off Court Street and you’ll see a loading dock, that’s where you’ll pull up and unload.

Thanks again Chris for all your help! We are excited to be working with you guys again!

Please let me know if you have any questions!
