Picked up two 6ers of Schafley Christmas at 8% last night. Haven't tasted it yet but the sales person said they tasted it when the rep dropped it off and it was great. Clove and corriander if I remember is what's listed.

North Coast - Brother Thelonias - 9.4%ABV good malty dark strong.
Magic Hat - Winter '09 - American sour ale. A dark, slightly tart ale. 1/night would be my limit.
Magic Hat - Howl - Black Lager. Aroma of wintergreen. Big turn off. I would have poured it out had I not already had a couple of beers before this one.
You gonna buy one, or be one?
.....I'm gonna be one!

Biere de Gamme Rulles Tripel - Wonderful! 8.4%
Golden Carolus D'or - eh but I'm not sure something wasn't wrong with this one. 8%
Maredsous Blonde - Awful, I'm not sure it wasn't infected as I poured it down the drain. :( 6%

Rock Bottom - northside Indianapolis,

Double Barrel Pale Ale - Awesome. Plenty of hop flavor, a bit of aroma.
Double IPA - bartender called it "grass in a glass." I wouldn't call it grassy, but definitely Eric would enjoy this one. It might be enough hops for his hop head.
Brickway Brown - seemed to be somewhere between a brown and a porter.

All good and fresh. Add the wings special, and salmon fish & chips, and the surrounding 24 bbl fermentation tanks (will that fit in my basement?!?!?!), and it was a great evening!

Finally made it to the new New Albanian location.

12% Thunderfoot - Barrel Stout, really good but flat. Tiff's was not as flat it seemed when she got one later.
10.7% Hoptimus - The beer would be good but way too sweet, like Kool-aid sweet. My glass and hands were all sticky just from them serving it.
8.5% Solidarity - Porter, decent

That was all the big ones on tap so we headed to the other location.
12% Scaldis Noel - Best beer on tap I've had in a very long time. The lady loved it too!
8.5% Geant's Noel - Not much to the beer and dominate spice but drinkable.
Schmaltz He'brew Rejewvenator Strong/Fruit Ale, I think 7.5% - tasted like dirty socks, we couldn't drink it.

I'm sipping an IPA at blue Star Brewing Co. in San Antonio. I'd rate it a 7 on a scale of 10. I also tried the cask conditioned pale ale, but it was really weak. I may also test their barleywine. I walked from my hotel, but I sense a cab ride in my future.

New Albanian Brewery had Kasteel Rouge on tap now too! Scaldis 12% was still flowing.

We also picked up a bunch of leftover Noels in Louisville this weekend from DeRanke, St. Feullion, and hoppy ones from Caroulus, DeRank, Chouffe and others. Great scores!

Granite City, north Kansas City --

Scottish - mild smoky, malty flavor.

Bock - almost a nutty type flavor.

Stout - very creamy, but not much on the roasted malt.

Overall, very middle-of-the-road brews.
