Any Local suppliers

Post by dirtyfoot » Wed Dec 16, 2009 11:53 pm

Hey all I am new to the hobby brewed my first batch from an ingerdient kit I got off the internet and it was a great success if i say so myself! I was wondering if there was any where local that i could get ingerdients or supplies. I live over in Henderson so lets say a 50mile radius would be good.

The Posey county Co-op at the intersection of Mill Rd & St. Joe Ave is the only place around this area that has any supplies. The selections are few (and old), and advice can be downright wrong.

Your best source for ingredients is mail order, from places like Midwest Supply, Northern Brewer, Williams Brewing, Austin Supply, More Beer, Listermann's. Any brewing advice you need you have this forum. There are members of this group that can make beer that would stand up with the best commercial examples.

There's a homebrew store in Owensboro. Never been and do not know the name, but it might be worth a trip: http://www.owensborobeerandwinesupply.com/

Don't buy any ingredients there.. I bought some hops there last spring and they ended up being over 3 years old, gave they to a guy making labic.

I have bought bottles and other hardware from them when I'm in town but they don't really keep their items updated.

Hey I went to the Homebrew Shop over in Owensboro Saturday. He seemed to me to have a great selection of supplies and ingredients (but please remember I am new here). He carries brew kits, grains, malts, buckets, bottles pretty every thing on listed on his website looks to be in the store. He said he was low on some stuff he had been blessed with alot of buying customers. I would recommend a trip over or atleast check out his website http://owensborobeerandwinesupply.com/index.htm.

I want to thank you all again for the great advice on here

Another great guy to deal with is Tom @ Rebel Brewer in Nashville. http://www.rebelbrewer.com
They have great prices and most of the time you get your orders the next day...

Yesterday afternoon I placed an order with Rebel Brewers out of Nashville. Shipping regular FEDEX Ground, the order was delivered today before noon. Pretty impressive! Now I have to get home before the wife finds my new March pump.
