Open Invitation- Alveys Burger Cook Off

Post by Chris Alvey » Sun May 03, 2009 9:09 am

I'll be having a Burger CookOff and Cocktail competition at my house on Saturday, May 16th.

-- If you'd like to enter a burger, please bring enough ingredients to make about 6 complete burgers.
-- If you'd like to make a cocktail, bring your stuff to make (at least) one small pitcher full.
-- I have a 2 tap kegerator and extra CO2 tank and cobra taps, so, of course, you're welcome to bring beers.
-- Simple side items are appreciated, but not necessary.
-- We'll have bocce ball, ladder golf, and who know what other lawn sports.

Burger judging will be at 5pm, so, if you are cooking, you're welcome to come over any time noon or after to get prepared. I have a Big Green Egg, a Brinkmann smoker, 2 charcoal grills, and 1 gas grill lined up so far. If you have an easily-transportable grill and don't mind bringing it, that'd be great.

Ladder golf??? What's that??? If that's what I think it is, the non-politically correct name is Monkey Balls!!!
Now all you need is Corn Hole!! and Washers!! and you'd have a good ol' boy drunken party!
You gonna buy one, or be one?
.....I'm gonna be one!

Don't forget horsehoes and hand grenades!
Still trying to work oout the details on whether I can attend. Do you have a Weber kettle in your arsenal? That's the main tool I need to make my perfect burger. (mine is permenantly mounted into my outdoor kitchen cooktop)

In fact, I do have a Weber kettle in the grill arsenal. No excuses now :)

I have never heard it called monkey balls, but I do like that. Surely someone has cornhole boards that they will be bringing. Hand grenades is out however ... the lawn has enough problems.
