Brew In A Bag????

Post by BM1 » Sat Mar 07, 2009 1:56 am

Hey,I read about a brewing method yesterday that could be interesting to try out. Check out this thread.
http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com/forum/ ... hilit=BIAB .I used a similar technique once on a partial mash that turned out pretty good.

Anyone ever tried this 'BIAB' on a full scale?Might be fun to try but I have some doubts. :roll:I'm thinking about trying it on a small batch next weekend.
You gonna stop whinin' 'bout that beer,or you gonna send it to me?

Give it a couple years and you'll be able to buy beer kits in tea bag form. The thin mash is the part I have trouble with but seems to make beer.

I hear ya.I was thinking about just that the other day. It's not something I plan to do forever.Given my ^&*% poor AG set up,it's a better choice. When I grow up  and get bigger stuff,I'll get away from it.Doing a batch sparge on a 3gallon brew seems like wasted time at 60-65% efficiency vs.70%-75% BIAB. I guess it's an ego thing. :D
Anyway,right now,it's kinda fun. :D
