Brew Day Open Invitations

Post by Chris Norrick » Thu Jan 22, 2009 9:26 pm

This topic is to be used for publicly announcing your upcoming brew days. It should mainly be used if you would like to invite guests to help/watch/learn. If you don't feel comfortable posting your phone and address, just request guests send you a Private Message (PM) for directions, etc.

I'll let ya know if my date changes but right now I'm looking at 2/7 at 9 am for my next batch. I do 10 gallon all grains and love to share what I know so anyone who wants to learn or just hang out in a man cave of beer goodness with fellow crafters is always welcome.

Belgian 7.5% IPA. huh, go figure. :D

Sorry, if you read this, I edited to 2/7. I apparently need training on how to read my desk calander.

I am on for this Saturday with the Belgian IPA. 9 am through 3ish pm. Usually takes me about 6 hours.

If you are interested, call 402-2523 for directions. I'm working long hours, at least starting out this week to make up for last weeks disaster. So it might be evening before I respond. I would expect to be with easier hours by midweek the latest, however.

Depending on what you want to learn, I'll be making the first stage of the yeast starter on Wednesday which is pretty simple but if you want to see the equipment set-up, that option is open also.

When: Friday, February 6th starting at 4pm
Where: Randy Weber's garage
Who: Randy Weber & Chris Alvey
What: We're doing an all-grain Dubbel / Abbey style using the Dark Candi Syrup for the first time. Should be interesting. We're running out of beer :(

Contact Chris Alvey at 812 454.4897 for directions if you want something to do after work on Friday. It should be reasonably decent in the garage and we will have the heater going.

Hoping to drop the IPA in carboys for the secondary so I can push the next brew.
Feb. 21st - 8% Belgian Stout around 9am to 3pm.
I have not hit my gravities once since I switched to one step mashes so I'm going back to a step mash for this one, it'll take a bit longer.

I'll be brewing next week 3/23-3/27. The kids are gone for spring break, I've made progress on the honey do list, I'm laid off....sounds like a great me week ahead :beer8 Brews planned are a Hopeye Rye, Wife's Wheat, Peanut Butter Cup Stout, IPA (Indiana Pale Ale), and I'm sure something else...any suggestions?
I haven't picked out any specific days, so if someone only has a certain day and /or time available that wants to come out an drink...er I mean learn. Let me know 812-431-2836. I'm conveniently located across the street from the zoo on Mt. Auburn Rd, and about a mile stumble from Gerest Haus. :beer9
You gonna buy one, or be one?
.....I'm gonna be one!
