Teach a Friend to Homebrew 2008.

Post by Dwayne_Delaney » Tue Oct 28, 2008 9:31 pm

Steve Woods has graciously volunteered to again host the Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day at his house this coming Saturday, Nov. 1st. :beer9

We will probably start showing up around 8 or 9am. Bring your brewing equipment, any newbies interested in brewing, beverages, covered dish/munchies.
We will discuss this in more detail at tomorrow night's meeting.

Below are directions copied from Chris Norrick's post from last year:
Directions to the Brewery On Barton:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q ... =UTF8&om=1

The Bar-N Brewery on Barton is on Barton Road just north of Volkman Road. From the East Side, drive north on Greenriver road until it ends at Petersburg Road. Continue north to Baseline Rd(four way stop). Turn left, then right onto Volkman Road at the top of the big hill. Follow Volkman to the stop sign and Seven Hills Road. Cross traffic does not stop, so watch. Continue through the intersection (road name changes - - Volkman is to the left to 41, Barton goes north). Drive to the Bar-N is the second drive on the left going uphill to the big pole barn.

From Evansville or the West Side, take 41 or St. Joe north to Baseline Road. Turn right (east) on Baseline to Volkman, turn left and follow the above directions. You can also take Volkman Rd from 41 to Barton if you wish.

I should be there. The weather's supposed to be a bit warmer, should be nice.

Thanks for the post Dwayne. I should be back from Tampa in time! I will try to brew a lemongrass wheat [WIT] which I tried at the Outer Banks Brewing Co. It was a winner.
See ya

Many, many thanks to Steve Woods for hosting this year’s Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day. It was a picture-perfect brew day, with a decent turnout including several potential new brewers in attendance.

Ron Huck is now an official homebrewer, having brewed his first beer, Hopnog 2008, an American IPA from a kit provided by Steve Woods.
Way to go Ron, can’t wait to taste it!

Sorry I missed it. I came down with a nasty bug Friday afternoon and pretty much stayed in bed all day Saturday.
