Tried some of Schlafly's Pumpkin at the Gerst tonight. Not too bad; lots of spice, kinda sweet, some pumpkin flavor, LOT'S(8%) of alcohol.

Lemongrass Wheat
Well, just back from the Outer Banks - awesome weather, great water and even some fresh fish straight from the surf.
While at the Kill Devil Hills brewery I had some great tasting lemongrass wheat! I think I will modify a Belgian Wit and substitute the lemongrass for the coriander???
We'll see
Vini Vidi Cupio [I came, I saw, I brewed]

Stopped by Listermann's in Cincinnati an picked up a sample of their Wild Mild. It's a brown "english style ale". Upon the pour from the 22 oz bottle it is very evident that it is a bottle conditioned ale with a thick layer of yeast at the bottom. Lots of english yeast esters, and decent biscuit malt flavor, but over all, disappointing. I was expecting something with more flair from one of the larger home brew stores.
I'll stick to just buying supplies from them and make my own.

Survived a trip to Atlanta and I'd hate to admit how many belgians and micros I brought home. Highlight, the Brick Store. If you ever get down there, wow. At this time, they have 6 belgian christmas ales on tap, all over 10%. I had the St. Bernardus. yeah, fantastic. Sweet Water micro had a party going on but I did drink some average beer from there. Yesterday we did the 5 Seasons micro. Excellent 10% triple aged in a barrel, can't remember what kind because I had triples aged in everything imaginable down there.

Stopped by the Bluegrass Brewing Co. in Louisville last night. About every beer I was looking forward too, they were out which is dissapointing.
But I did have a few on tap;
Stout aged in bourban barrels (Wonderful)
American Pale Ale (not the best, add body and call it an IPA)
Darkstar Porter (dirty taste to it)
Nut Brown Ale (nice for a light brown but I'd of liked more body)
Brought home a spiced ale, an IPA, and a double IPA which I have not tried yet.
