We made 65 gallons of wort today. SG was 1.078. Thanks to everyone for brewing and helping out. I’ll post follow up for the barrel filling. :beer9

What’s the scoop with the beer, is it done fermenting? Do we need to gather a group to transfer it to the barrel and when?

Yes, beer is done. Josh messaged me last week and said it was at 1.020. And yesterday he said he tried to check it, but only got a bunch of yeast.. either way, it should be barreled in the next week for sure.
I have my boys this weekend, but I will be free Sunday at 4 if we can get a crew together then.

Do we have a game plan for cleaning the fermenter once it's empty?

I can be there Sunday. As far as cleaning the fermenter, Josh and I just used the 140 degree water at brewhouse and a decent dose of PBW to clean the fermenter last year. It could do well to let it sit for a few days and then it could be drained and well rinsed.

Several of us met at EB yesterday afternoon, and with some joint homebrewer ingenuity, we got the Old Ale into the Maker's Mark barrel! It finished around 1.019, and tasted quite nice. The barrel smelled amazing!

Can’t say for sure, but I’d be surprised if there is another full keg in it..

I can be there Friday afternoon around 4:30 to empty and get it soaking, if anyone wants to join me.

I have one full keg of the unbarreled beer. I’ll have some at the next meeting and also at the picnic at my house.

I’m told the beer is ready to be kegged. Will discuss details at tonight’s meeting. If you have one, we are looking for the 10 club owned kegs. -Aaron

I am in possession of #2,4,8,10. They are cleaned, sanitized, O-rings greased and ready to be refilled.
