I've only listened to the his first show on Imperial Stouts and there seems to be some conflicting advice on it and the live radio show they did last Sunday on high gravity beers.
Anyway, here is Jamil's Helles Bock recipe (for 10 gal batch): http://www.beerdujour.com/Recipes/Jamil ... aibock.htm

How about some good pale ale recipes?????
I plan on making a MPA('merican pale ale) with some Simcoe hops I've got in the freezer. How about some ideas on the grain bill for a 5 gal. batch.

MPA recipe
Here is my recipe for a MPA('merican Pale Ale):
9.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US
0.75 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 53L
0.25 lb Carared - 20L
0.50 oz Simcoe [14.40%] (60 min)
1.50 oz Simcoe [14.40%] (15 min)
1.00 oz Simcoe [14.40%] (Dry Hop 7 days)
1 Pkgs US56 Dry Yeast
It's in the Mash tun as I type. I should have this at the next meeting.
