09/15/2018 Equipment Cleaning Day!

Post by wuertzBräu » Sat Aug 04, 2018 11:17 am

Attention: OVHA Members

The board has decided to host an equipment cleaning day before SWIRCA, Brew Ha Ha, Evansville Wartime Museum, and Wandering Owl. We want to be sure we don't find any surprises upon arriving at the largest event of the year.

This will take place at Dutch's house, on September 15th. I will leave the exact start time up to Dutch, but was thinking around 10AM.

Let's use this topic thread to discuss the details of that day, if we need to bring additional supplies for cleaning, etc. We plan to have food and a bottle/homebrew share, so please post if you can attend, so we can plan accordingly.

If you need the address, I can send it via PM, just let me know. Hope to see you out there!

Don H and I will take a careful look at the equipment this Tuesday to make sure that if we need any parts we will have them on hand. We had a couple of old issues like one contaminated CO2 manifold, a possible leaking regulator, possible tubing changeout on one jockey, gauges, bead count of current inventory, CO2 tank levels/ weights, (clamps, tubing and top tank fitting on large fermenter), one quick disconnect need to be added. We have some broken beads which can simply be fixed with a dot of superglue. PLUS ???????
Our goal would be to be as ready as posible for that Saturday in Sept.

Thanks Dutch! We'll be ready.

Don't forget to reply here if you can make it, so we can get a general head count for food planning purposes.

Cheers!

Pencil me in as I may have this day free if I don't have a birthday party to attend this day. I'm thinking it will happen but if not I'll be glad to help out.

A ton of thanks for all of those fifteen members who showed - we did a ton of work and lots of general cleaning and dismantled cart.

Minor hiccup - after equipment cleaning day my CO2 regulator, the output line and ball-lock fitting seems to have gone missing. Anyone recall a reg with the clear stiff tubing? and where it may have gone. I checked at Turoni's and did not see it.

I remember seeing it but I didn't realize it was yours. Did you look in the totes or in the bottom of the tool box maybe?
