Hello Everyone
I had a quick question maybe some one can help me with. I have a 5 liter mini keg system and I was wondering if anyone knew if you had to buy food grade CO2 cartridges or can you use the CO2 cartridges fromm like pellet or BB guns? If someone could help I would appreciate it.

I know this was a big controversy on a mountain bike forum I was on last year dealing with the CO2 tire inflaters. The controversy involved a rumor that the pellet gun CO2 carts has a small amount of oil added to lube the gun. It was thought that this oil would degrade the rubber in the tire tube. If I remember correctly, this rumor was untrue. There was no oil in there.
I've used the pellet gun CO2 carts to purge bottle and carboys before filling. And I have an adapter to charge my big corney keg with them when you take it to a party or whatever and have had no trouble. I say get the cheap ones, because those "food grade" ones cost an arm and a leg.
