My Intro
Hi everyone. I have some time at work today and thought that I would introduce myself to the group (or those who venture on the forums). My name is Luke Shepherd. You might have seen me at the last meeting. I walked in just as Kenny started talking.
Anyway, I have dabbled in extract brewing in the past. Just moved out here from Omaha. I was looking into building a three tiered gravity brew system but now I think I'll give BIAB a try.
Hope to meet everyone soon and share a pint.

Re: My Intro
Welcome to the club! I am a BIABer myself, and would highly recommend giving it a go before you invest in a three tier setup.
I was not able to make the September meeting, but I will be covering the upcoming Learn to Homebrew Day event at the October meeting. There is a thread under the Announcements with the details. I'm sure there will be several types of breweries set up there, including BIAB. We would love to have you join us!
Cheers!
John

Welcome Luke! Don't let John talk you out of a sweet 3-tier system. True, BIAB is a more cost effective option for starters, but if you wait till the 'right time' you may never get it or regret not doing it sooner. Cheers!!

Re: My Intro
Welcome Luke A simple 2-tier system, with a pump, is a easy system to start out with and upgrade as you go.
Anyway you go it will make good beer. Prost!

Re: My Intro
Thank you, everyone. For now I still want to look into biab but long term will always be that tiered system. Especially when I have a coworker saying he would weld it together for me for free.
I should point out that you won't see much of me. Currently the sole provider for the family while my wife is finishing a doctorate. I work sales aka weekends.
