Pretty interesting read of Boston Beer Company and where the craft beer market is moving.

Good article. A lot to say about how we were sold on the fizzy pee beer of our fathers. Now that our tastes improved, as well as broadened opportunities, who needs his 'craft' brew anymore.KennyPurcell wrote:Pretty interesting read of Boston Beer Company and where the craft beer market is moving.

Here is a list of some of the big craft breweries 2015 beer release schedule. So if you're trying to find one of those rare hard to find beers this would help!

Re: A place for interesting beer-related articles.
This article is called "I'm Boycotting Beer Sold in Cans and Here's Why You Should Too". Apparently there is a big labor dispute with Crown Metal Packaging, the company that makes a lot of craft brewery beer cans, in Toronto. I'd really like to see a list of what breweries use their cans. I saw that Southern Star and Revolution Brewing use them.
http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/marty-warr ... lp00000592
The Toronto branch of Crown Packaging is currently in its 17 month of an ongoing labour dispute with 125 United Steelworkers (USW) Local 9176 workers. The workers have alleged that Crown is bargaining in bad faith by offering a 42%, $9 hour wage cut, a 5 year pension freeze, among other concessions. The Toronto plant is highly profitable and has received awards for productivity and safety. USW has filed a complaints with the Ontario Labour Relations board but has not received any response. Crown has been using bused in workers to replace its employees while they strike.
Should the strike be resolved, Crown has stated only 26 of the original workers will continue to have jobs as their positions have since been replaced, a practice known as strikebreaking.
