Barley Crusher

Post by sirgiovanni » Wed Oct 29, 2014 10:12 am

I have one, not sure the rated capacity but I typically fill with 6 lbs per load.

I will be honest that I'm not a patient man with this unit any longer and want to try out the Captain Crush.

My problem is simple, you have to use feeler gauges to keep the rollers in the correct gap position for the particular grain size in order to prevent the second, non-powered roller from hanging up and not feeding the grain properly. This gauge adjustment is the fix for the problem but I want to try the three roller system with notches that show me the gap more quickly and visually than using the gauges.

If you don't have a decent grinder and don't mind the maintenance set-up effort, make me an offer and I'd be happy to help you out. I never have sparge issues and often use a high percentage of wheat. It's a good hobby grinder but I love to try out new toys.

If there is no interest in buying this mill, would it be something we could put with the door prizes?

How much are you looking to get out of it? Does it have the grain hopper? I have a modified grain gobbler that is starting to show its age...

I am guessing it has a 7 lb hopper, I always load 6 lbs.

I was thinking around 30 if that is fair?
