Sky, I have a 30 PSI regulator just like the picture you posted that you're welcome to borrow. I won't be able to attend the big brew Saturday though. If you're interested, I can PM you my address and you can pick it up sometime before then.

That's awesome Jeremy, thanks! When Jeff and Dutch said they had them at Menards or Rural King I started looking on their websites and I couldn't find the 30psi regulator but I a found a "Mr. Heater" 0-60psi High Pressure regulator. It doesn't look like what is in that picture but I was able to find one at Menards! It was in the propane space heater and blow torch section instead of the turkey fryer section. It's not what I was looking for, it has a P.O.L. connector instead of the ACME nut connector but I got it, hooked it up and I have success!!!! :) My brewstand is 100% operational and will be debuted at PAR this Saturday for its first brew!

Here is a picture of the MR. Heater regulator that I found in Menards!

First brew went off without a hitch (after installing the new regulator). Was a little concerned about the 1/4" needle valves being a little small and restricting the gas flow to the 10" burners but they worked great. Very nice control of the flame. After doing a little research, I found that my concern was for naught. It seems that most all high pressure regulator (at least all that I could find) use 1/4" ID hose.

Next up.. adding the keggle conversion mash tun. Ordered the JayBird 15" false bottom with pickup and "level 1" filtration ring Friday.

Mounted the cook top and working on the kettle to burner spacing. Looks like I will be building a 3/4" grate for the kettle to sit on. That will put the center of the burner 2.75" from the bottom center of the kettle and 3.75" from the outter edge of the kettle.

New Jaybird 15" false bottom all ready for a load of grain. I also went ahead picked up new three piece ss ball valves to replace the 23 year old brass valves.

Fired everything up today to test the mash tun pick-up and give it a good cleaning with PBW. Filled both the HLT and the mash tun with 8 gallons of 60deg water. Fired the HLT burner to med throttle and 30min later the HLT was up to 120deg and the mash tun was 100deg. At 40 min the HTL was 140 and the mash tun was 120deg and @ 50 min the HTL was 170 and the tun was 152. I let the pump and temp control run for 30 min and the temp held perfectly. I think if I add Don's 6" banjo under the mash tun I can cut the preheat time down to about 30min and then should not need to use it at all during the mash.

The keggle top just so happens to about the same size as the 10 gallon gott cooler so my insulated lid with sparge adaptor works great. I think this will help the keggle more temp stable.

Can't wait till next brew day. I might have to come up with a smash brew for the challenge.
