Unconditioned used ball lock kegs

Post by john mills » Tue Apr 29, 2008 2:34 pm

I've gotten my hands on a dozen used ball lock kegs that need to be reconditioned  . I'm certain they'll all be fine with some good cleaning, and a new set of seals. I'll bring some to the meeting April 30, and "give them away" at my cost :beer6 . If anybody is interested in starting kegging, I'd like newbies to be able to get first dibs. The more draft beer available, the better this little world will become :D .

Thanks again John for the great deal on the kegs. Below is some information that Chris Norrick posted awhile back. I just placed my order for some of the replacement gaskets.

Has anyone found a good(cheap) source for poppets?
B3 wants $3.99 each!

I had problems with their sight not taking my credit card. Ended up using GoogleCheckout to make it work.

John, just found the ovha and this website this week. Did you get rid of all the kegs, or have some left? I want to start kegging, tired of bottling.

Michael,
Welcome to the website/club. Come to a meeting to see what we're all about.
I've still got 7 of the original 12. I was going to keep a few, but I believe I can get some more anyway. Just let me know how many you'd like. We can meet somewhere, or at the monthly meeting at Germania on May 28.

John:
Met Jack at Turonis this week, and he turned me on to ovha. Looking forward to joining in some time. I'm a novice; extract-brewing with some specialty grains since January. I'm on my eighth and ninth batch. Anyway, I hope to make a meeting; May is out, I'm working that evening. June is a definite possibility.

In the meantime, how much are the kegs? I'd like to start with two or three. (one to make soda for the kids!)

Does anyone have an outlet post and poppet for a Corny they'd be willing to sell? I have one that's bent on top so it won't seal.
