Beer Kegs

Post by rbirkle » Tue Mar 04, 2008 1:06 pm

I am looking for half barrel beer kegs. I would like to use one as a boil pot. Does anyone know where I could find one or maybe more?

If anyone has a spare wort chiller for sale, let me know.

Thanks!!!

Ask the folks at Westside Liquors. Tell him you are in the beer club. He made me a pretty attractive offer for some last year.

Westside Liquors was able to sell me some kegs. They are $30. The price went up at the beginning of the year.

Thanks Jim!

I'm glad you got them. I can't remember how much they were last year. Maybe 20$. I know people are taking them for scrap which is causing the increase in deposit prices.

Know if they had any more? I might have to get one for that price.

FYI - A liquor store or distributor does not own kegs so they can't legally sell kegs.

After agonizing over the legality of the issue, my fiance bought me two legal kegs for my birthday this month from

http://www.chicompany.net/

Cheapest place I found legal kegs. I ended up getting the barrel sided ones since they were out of the standard. $62.10 each, and they will pull the valves for you if you want, either discarding them, or sending them to you.
