Bourbon Barrels

I found a distiller in Owensboro that sells used barrels for $13.00 each. They don't have them all the time, but if you call ahead they will let you know when they are available. I suspect that there is a small amount that would drain out in each one. Hmmm!!!

I would love to get five or so people who would each do a 10 gallon stout or porter or something and mix them all together in a barrel for a big club beer.

Awesome ... we need three more suckers ... err, volunteers, for this thing.

I figure once everything melds together and ages a bit we can keg the thing up and/or bottle for distribution to the participants. It could also be served at the SWIRCA event and the BrewHaHa as a shining example of our club's combined brewing talents.

I was thinking the same thing. I've heard of some other clubs doing the same. I'm in!

The squirrel.

I would be happy to go in on that, as a willing sucker, errr volunteer. I could probably learn a useful lesson. Could I reuse the squirrel from my first batch?

You'll need to make a squirrel starter if you want to re-use him. Messy stuff, and squirrels are free anyway.
