Is this not something that we normally and gladly share for free to those interested in brewing our beers?
Why not give everyone an opportunity to taste your beer?
If I had aspirations of turning pro with my recipes, i guess this might be an issue for me.
Just my 2ยข.

I have no problem with giving everyone an opportunity to taste my beer. Just with the part where someone else owns my beer. It's a great gimmic for them.

I've always felt, maybe naively, that the Longshot contest was more about marketing homebrewing than an attempt by Boston Beer Company to solely market themselves. All of the commercials, web ads and packaging that I have seen always emphasize the fact that these are beers produced by individual homebrewers. I'm sure that the profits (if any) that they have realized from the sale of the past winners is pretty small compared with that of their flagship beers. I don't know of any of the past winners that have even become regular offerings. Personally, I think that winning the national Longshot contest would be pretty cool and well worth the price of admission.

I also think it would well be an honer to win.@%$& the beer rights. It's all about the fun.Besides,if I brewed a winner

,they don't have enough wild horses

to keep me from brewing it again for myself.
