Very interesting way they do the whirlpool mash. I sort of do something similar when I recirculate through the coil heat exchanger but I try to NOT disturb the grain bed. This method seems to keep the whole mash a very constant temp, something I struggle with, especially during the sparge. Maybe I'll give this method a shot.
