Indiana Brewers' Guild Winter Festival

Post by jefrey3 » Tue Dec 30, 2008 3:11 pm

The winter festival is Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009. I will be serving beer. I have room for 2 in the truck if anyone is interested. I think I get 4 tickets. If so the ride includes free admission to the festival. Anyone with a servers' permit that is willing to pour has top priorty.

Also I am posting notice of an upcoming grain order.

Do you want grain orders in this thread or another?

The fest looks fun... I need to see closer to time (and I need to get my permit.)

Corey's daughter's first birthday is next Saturday. As of now I'm going alone.

I'm debating on going up. My uncle lives up there and if he wants to go I'll probably head up.

Need to leave about 8:00. The festival starts at 2:00 our time, but they want everyone to set up early so vehicles can be cleared out before it starts. There must only be 1 overhead door so they are expecting a traffic jam.

Ok, I'm good to go. I'm meeting two people up there so Don, he'll probably need your help too. Are we loading up in the morning at Turonis? If not, where do you want to meet?

Wow, we've got to get our club up there next year. The fest sold out in an hour. That's 2,500 people, people! A few rare beers spotted: Three Floyds "Bird 'O Prey", Warbird "Project-X", and Sierra Nevada "Torpedo Extra IPA". I had a couple of excellent barrel aged beers. There was a nice aged porter from Barley Island (2008 Bronze Medal at GABF). I'm sure there were plenty more good beers but the crowds were thick to say the least.

Here's a few pics and vids on Flickr: http://flickr.com/groups/961568@N20/

Looks packed ... but those beers sound delicious.
