I'd like to invite the OVHA members to enter this year's Strassenfest Homebrew contest. Since this is the first year for the contest, we are keeping things really simple. Three categories - light beer, dark beer and wheat beer. All you need is one 12oz bottle and an entry form to enter. No entry fee.
Go to http://www.jasperstrassenfest.org/Saturday/Saturday.cfm for the entry form and rules.
I will be in Evansville next Thursday (July 24) and can pick up bottles from Turonis or another central location.
Please beermail me here to let me know if anyone is interested.
Prost!

Strassenfest Homebrew Contest
For everyone I haven't met, I used to live in Evansville and was a member of OVHA. After moving home to Jasper, and missing having good friends to brew with, I decided to try to start my own club. I am happy to say that I have been the president of the Dubois County Suds Club since 2006 (although I still miss my OVHA buddies)!

This sounds like a cool contest. Unfortunately, the only thing I have bottle-able right now is and IPA, and I am not sure where that would fit in.
If you could move the contest back a week or so, I brewed a hefe this weekend
Next year I'll mark the calendar and have something ready.
Maybe we could use this event as a time to get our clubs together as well.

I can stop by Turoni's early evening on Thursday - probably around 5pm.
I didn't mention above, but the contest and demonstration are open to anyone who wants to make the trek up!
