Hello Everybody, A new beginning all-grain brewer here. I was hoping to gain some insight about where the best place to buy supplies are? Are there any home brew stores in this area, or do you have to pretty much buy it and have it shipped from stores such as Northwest Brewer?

Any help is appreciated.

If your just starting, I would suggest you spend a couple brew days with a couple different local home brewers before you buy anything. See their equipment and how to use it. To get some idea on how you want to do it (your style of doing it). The initial cost of a brew system, ferment system and dispensing system can be costly. Everything can be bought but lot of things canbe built cheaper. Read and ask question in the forums. With that said here are some links.

If your going to buy off line compare cost after postage is figured in. (example: I'm making a fermenter out of one of these. http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/varian ... e%5Ftest=1 They charge about $8 to ship an other place charges $47 to ship.)

The CoOp on St Joe Ave has supplies locally. There is also a shop in Chandler, but his primary focus is wine. A much better selection is available online. If you know what you need, some of us will be going to Indianapolis this weekend. I will also be going to Indy next weekend.
Great Fermentations is a good supply shop in Indy. Great Fermentations also sells mail order.

I also order grain (50 or 55 pound bags) for the local homebrewers when I order grain for Turoni's. We just received grain so my next order will be in 3-4 months. Grain was $30.00 to $46.50 per bag for the last order.

And just FYI, Tom's store in Chandler has closed (Winemaker's), so it's just the Co-op now...
