SWIRCA Fest

The news release from SWIRCA states there will be a homebrew exhibition. Does anyone want to brew something at the festival? If not we'll get that corrected.

Also Judi wants to establish a list of people to go to if problems arise. She would like a couple of OVHA members on the list. I suggested Dwayne & Chris.

I'll be a contact; she already has my phone number and email address.

I can be a contact, that is just fine. I'm not sure if she has my number but I can get it to her.

Since I missed the meeting, I'm probably missing some info. I would volunteer to do a brewing exhibition if we have the space. Are we in the same venue as last? If so I probably can't swing it.

The radio station (WABX I think) is going to sample some of the beers available at the festival & talk about them on air. Does anybody want to send them some homebrew? I expect they would want to be able to talk to the brewer also.

You need to talk to Judi or Tiffany at SWIRCA for details.

I'm confused........it appears that OVHA will only be offering root beer(non-alcoholic) and homemade apple cider. :?: :?: :?:

The info did seem to suggest that. I even had a fellow employee assume the same thing. :(

Some pics, I didn't get too many... too freaking busy! I counted 20 beers on tap, 1 root beer on tap, and 16 different bottles? AMAZING! I was hearing a guesstimate of around 900 people too.

Dwayne, I have a hose off your CO2 I believe. And someone's got a QD CO2 thingie of mine. Someone was also looking for a keg. Bring all lost and found to the meeting! Lets also bring all the beer we scored and share it out. Man what a night.

I have two cobra taps labeled Norrick. I also have one ball lock with attached faucet.

Missing from the beer cart. The top assembly of one faucet. 3 pitchers disappeared & the ball point pen, but those are minor. I talked to Keith from SWIRCA. They didn't find the faucet parts. He said they handed out over 1100 glasses but he didn't know how many were given to the venders & he knows there was some broken. It definitely was 900-1000 attending.

All the lines have been cleaned & rinsed. It should be ready for BrewHaHa. Sometime I'll need somebody to help me move the cart back to my house.

Dan Kifer doesn't think it had much impact on the Volksfest attendance either.

Thanks to everyone for making it happen this year. I don't know how we could have done any better. OVHA was well represented and I am sure that we made a good impression on the participants and anyone lucky enough to visit our booth.

Bob has some good coverage on the IndianaBeer.com site.

Jack, I have the faucet top assembly, still attached to a tap handle along with 10 other tap handles and a pitcher. I found them in my rubbermaid container.
