I was reading an article on brewing techniques that mentioned adding calcium sulphate and salt to wort to improve yeast metabolism.Anybody ever tried that?I always thought that salt was bad for yeast.I add gypsum now and then, maybe I'll try salt on a three gallon and see.Stop me if bad idea.

I suspect brewing salts (all ionized minerals are salts, it's a chemistry term) and not specifically sodium chloride, aka table salt was meant.

There are some beer styles that contain significant amounts of sodium chloride, but I'd not add a tsp to a batch just for fun... try a tiny bit in a bottle or two first!

I can get you more information if you need it.
