OK, here is the question. I 've heard that Starsan, once it has been mixed with water, is good for several days, if it is in a sealed container.
I have a carboy that has been full of Starsan for two weeks, and has a carboy cap on it. Do you think it is ok to go ahead and use it, with out re-sanitizing it? I'm thinking that I am going to go ahead and use it, but I am curious to see what someone else might think about it

Absolutely. I keep my kegs with a little starsan in them. I drain it out right before I rack to the keg. Starsan will keep for a very long time if mixed with distilled water. This is info straight from the starsan chemist. I mix up a keg full and dispense via a picnic tap. It's very convenient this way.

Thank you, sir! I ask not to increase my wisdom, but to hone my laziness!

If I remember right, whether it still works or not has to do with if its pH is within a certain range.

Now, I'll be damned if I know what that range is or have anything to measure it, but there you have it.

If you're podcast friendly, go to this archive of basic brewing radio from 2007. Go to the March 29, 2007 entitled "Sanitizing with bleach and Star San'. There is also a good one on the previous week on "Sanitizing with Idophor"http://www.basicbrewing.com/index.php?p ... radio-2007

I've always heard that if you use distilled water, the stuff will last for months. I usually mix up a batch in a spray bottle as needed; usually will last me a couple of weeks.
