The new Liquor Locker at the intersection of St. Joe and Franklin is now open. Not what I was hoping for, but the best store that's close to my house.

Sorry should of given you the heads up.
I talked to Gino (one of the owners) last Friday and he said he planned to open on a limited schedule today.

Sorry... whip me with a carboy brush :)

They do have a nice variety of domestic craft beers. For you cigar lovers, they have a great humidor. If demand warrants, they may add some of the more unique selections they carry at the Weinbach store. Of course, unlike the nearby Liquor Barn, there's no table with rummage sale items.

Discovered a fantastic beer menu over the weekend at an unexpected place: Market 323 downtown (next to Hammerheads). Nothing on tap but a wonderful selection of bottled beers from around the country and the world. The Boulevard Tank 7 (farmhouse style ale) was delicious.

Highly recommended!

I found Boulevard Tank 7 at the Liquor Locker on Weinbach last week (just north of the Lloyd Xway). As noted, a very smooth beer. I've found that the Weinbach store stocks a good variety of the Smokestack Series, which is Boulevard's specialty line.

As an aside, if you happen to be in KC, be sure to take their tour. The brewery is downtown southwest of Union Station and the WWI memorial. Make reservations by phone - http://www.boulevard.com/brewery/brewer ... ur-system/

Don't sweat the 3-month lead time. We showed up on a Friday morning this June and got on the next tour.

They don't sell beer there, although they do have samples. Around the corner is a local liquor store that stocks all their product.

+1

I had this one a couple of months ago, same place. Great saison-type beer.
