Bottle Bombs

Post by Jim W » Sun Dec 09, 2007 6:55 pm

Finally opened some of the Night(mare) B4 Christmas Ale that Chuck and I made a few months ago. They were gushers. But the remaining ounce or two was damn good. We finally decided that we bottled before it finished fermenting, and that was why we had the gushers. Oh well, one more mistake that won't be repeated.

Getting them ice cold before opening helps, but if you want to fix the problem, open them into your bottling bucket, let the foam drop. re-prime, and re-bottle.

I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me!
