Is anyone interested in trying to periodically get a few of us together at a local watering hole, to sample their wares, and discuss issues of world importance......uh brewing beer? Maybe try some of Jack's beer periodically, or the German place on Franklin, or Old Chicago, or someplace I am missing entirely. No rigid date or anything. I am just trying to get out of the house as it is dark so early.

My schedule is crazy but if you do, I'd like to hear about it to try.

Someone told me that Gerst Haus had their own beer. Is that true? If so, when did they start that?

There is a lot of room for someone with better knowledge to answer this but, I'll give it a whirl. There is a brand of beer called Gerst. I believe it was brewed here in town at some point. At the brewery that was at Fulton and the Lloyd. It is brewed elsewhere now. Actually if you look at this, I may be wrong about it being brewed here. http://www.gerstbeer.com/
