What’s the scoop? Is there a list of all brewers yet and do you need anyone to do double batches? Will there be prep at EVV Brewhouse the night before like we’ve done in the past? If so, what time? What time do we show up and plan to startup?

Recipe and list of brewers below. Starting at 8am Saturday. We have ingredients for 70 gallons and 60 gallons spoken for. So room for 2 more brewers or 2 people to do 10 gallons.

A few other notes. Evansville brewhouse is closed until April 18. We are ok to bring homebrew with us.
We will provide food for all brewers. We will also have twinkies and makers mark cask strength.
I plan to crush grains at my house and bring everything Saturday morning. Feel free to arrive early to set up.
If you’re missing information, you can call or text me at(217) 377-3798

So no group setup on Friday? If you’re doing this solo, lesson learned is to weigh up all the kits uncrushed, then crush each one individually. And that will be A LOT of crushed grains to transport. Here’s list from couple years ago:

March 4, 2017 Barrel Brew/Kegging: Lessons Learned
• Prep kits night before worked great. Have bucket for each kit and weight out BEFORE grinding. Weighing crushed grain is way more volume, time consuming and dusty.
• Plan for one persons setup to be the Chilling Station. Michael Julian did it last year. This person needs to finish first.
• Use sanitized BIAB bags as filters when dumping hot wort into Chilling Station kettle connected to Therminator
• Need to plan day/time for fermenter racking to barrel and cleanup
• Bring club CO2 tank, stainless racking cane, 2-hole bung, scale for barrel to keg day. Scale to weigh kegs while filling to target weight
• Use nylon ratchet strap to hold bung on barrel when pushing out

No Friday preparation is needed. Grains are crushed. I have bins of grain and a table to weigh everything. Could use an extra weigh scale if someone wants to bring one. We have 2. I’ll bring cups for hops and beer sharing. I have recipe with mash calcs for biab and mash tun.

Mullins has a water line with filter. I’ll have garden hoses for water lines. Bring an extension cord if you need it.

Looks to be a wonderful spring day tomorrow. Look forward to brewing some great beer.

I'm packing up now. I will bring an extra table too. Plus I'm bringing extra equipment to brew 10 gal if needed.
