4/7/2018 Barrel Brew Day

Attention OVHA members, [Edit, April 7th] will be our barrel brew day at Evansville Brewhouse! We will have 12 spots available, and will be brewing a Wee Heavy recipe. Skip at Liquor Locker was very generous to donate an empty barrel of Elijah Craig for us to fill with our beer after fermentation.

Please sign up by replying to this post - first come first serve! I will also have sign up sheets at the meeting on Wednesday.

The grain bill will be 19 lb for a 5.5 gallon batch, so if anyone will need to utilize DME to replace some of the grain, please let us know as well.

If weather is bad, we reserve the option to postpone until the following Saturday.

I'll note that since the club is covering ingredients, half of the finished product will be donated to club events, so brewers will not end up with a full keg in the end.

I'd be in for a 5 gallon batch. I'd like to use DME as I *still* only have just an 8 gallon pot to brew in.

Cost Should be minimal, since we'll get the base grain in bulk. The club covers the cost of the ingredients which is why half is donated back to events.

Last year we had a $10 buy in because the Quad required a lot of specialty items.

Just curious whats the gravity of this Wee heavy beer. 19 lbs of grain seem to be a large grain bill.

The recipe says OG 1091, FG 1025
