Volunteer Servers Needed: BrewBeQue, April 30, Noon-5 pm

Post by Chris Norrick » Tue Mar 29, 2016 8:50 am

Erin Norris, one of the organizers for BrewBeQue and Guardianship Services of Southwestern Indiana. Inc, will be at the meeting this week looking for volunteer servers. I think they are looking for a two hour shift and will even pay for the $5 one-time servers permit if you don't have one. They are looking for "qualified" beer enthusiasts to pour craft beer and chat with the public about the beer.

They moved it to a early spring event and moved it down to Haynie's Corner. Jeff should have Evansville Brew House open for the event as well.

Saturday, April 30 at Noon - 5 PM
Haynie's Corner Arts District
Corner of 2nd Street and Adams Ave, Evansville, Indiana 47713

Enjoy over 100 craft beers, great barbecue from local restaurants and food trucks, and live music! Tickets are limited and are available at a discount before March 26th.

GA tickets are $25 and include entrance, a souvenir sampling cup and access to over 100 craft beers.

VIP tickets are $45 and include admission to the Brewbeque Special VIP Lounge from 11:30am - 4:30pm and an exclusive souvenir glass. The VIP Lounge offers unlimited tasting of specialty beers poured every half hour.

Designated Driver admission is just $10 and includes entrance to the event, but no sampling.

Proceeds go to Guardianship Services of Southwest Indiana. GSSWI trains individuals to serve as advocates to elderly and disabled persons who who have been exploited or do not have family or friends to help them.

Brewbeque 2016 is brought to you by VanAuto, Azzip Pizza and HOT 96.

See you there!

Awesome. I was thinking about going to that anyway, might as well volunteer a shift! I'm licensed, so sign me up.

Everyone, sign up to volunteer at: http://www.brewbequeinfo.com/volunteer-registration/

There is also a "training" event at Bokeh Lounge on Friday at either 6 pm OR 7 pm to pick up your shirts and sample some of the event beers.

If you already have a servers license that is great because it will save them $5 a pop. They will need a copy of it.

Has anyone that signed up on the registration link received a confirmation email? I have not seen anything come through for me or Rachel.

I also registered and also have not received anything yet. It appeared to be a simple data collection form, so I'd bet that someone will reach out soon.

I figured one of the questions that form would have asked is whether or not you already had a servers license. Now they'll have to ask everyone individually and record it.

Well, Rachel and I still have not received emails. I guess we should assume we didn't make the cut. :-(
I didn't really see anyone to contact to confirm on their website.

It's been a pretty strange process. I got an email back and sent them copies of our servers permit. I then received a message back and they said" We will be in touch". I have yet to hear anything else.....seems strange.

Same here, Nate. I found an email on the Facebook event page, in one of the comments. She got me in touch with one of the organizers, since I didn't initially hear back.

I'll look up the email later and post it here for you if you don't have any luck.
