National Homebrew Day Big Brew May 2nd 2015

We are planning to participate in the National Homebrew Day's Big Brew. This year's event is on May 2nd and CYO will host the event. The 3 official recipe styles are Old School Barleywine, Killer Kolsch, and Columbus Pale Ale. We would like to brew all three beers, so the first three brewers to commit to a particular style (1 brewer per style), the club will pay for the ingredients to brew. The catch is that you must give at least half the beer back to the club for events. The recipes are on the website:

http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/a ... ebrew-day/

Please let me know ASAP who is interested so that we can get the ingredients ordered for May 2nd. All other brewers are welcome to come out and brew these or other recipes as well, you will just need to supply your own ingredients. We are hoping for a turnout that would compare to what we had at Carson's last Saturday for the Barrel Beer. This is a great way to get more people involved in brewing and bring some attention to CYO Brewing.

CHEERS!!

Rachel and I would each like to brew a 5 gallon batch that day. we would keep a keg and donate a keg. We would both like to do the Columbus pale ale.

Sounds good, Brandon. The club will provide ingredients for 5 gallons. I will put you down for the Columbus Pale Ale.

I will brew but the Barley wine is too extreme for my gear I do believe.

It just looks like 19 1/2# of grain (small for a Barley Wine) :D
I can do it, but with my torn rotator cuff I can't move my equipment.
If you don't find anyone else I will do it at my place.

This is also one of my favorite events of the year. If you are on the fence about attending I strongly recommend coming out it is a great time!

Are you bringing ingredients to the meeting Wednesday so that we can prepare them at home for Saturday or are you just bringing them Saturday and we will need to weigh and mill them there?
