Things are starting to come together for the AHA Big Brew Day being held @ Tin Man Brewing. We need to start getting a head count of brewers. Please post if you think you will be able to make the event. Here is a link to a page on the site explaining a bit more about the day.

The barrel brew landed on the weekend before St Paddy's day and we had an Irish theme including some really good corned beef and cabbage cooked up by John Mills. The Big Brew Day lands on the weekend before Cinco de Mayo so maybe we can have a Mexican theme...
As soon as we get all the details lined out with Tin Man we will post more..

I'm thinking about trying to brew with you guys.
How does all this work? Especially with cooling the wort. I have a homemade immersion chiller, it takes a little time to chill though. How is this handled with multiple people trying to chill their batches at once? Also do I need to bring my own hose?

Several of us will have plate chillers for communal use. You are more than welcome to bring your chiller if that's your preferred method. We will also have hoses and at least one water filter.

We usually have several hoses and splitters as well as electricity available. Most likely there will be enough to go around but best thing to do is bring everything you think you need to brew. I end up not using half the stuff I bring but it's there if needed.

If you are interested in brewing one of the AHA Big Brew beers, please let us know. You can find the recipes on the home page. The club will provide the ingredients and you provide the labor. In exchange, you will be asked to set aside half your batch for serving at OVHA supported events. Please respond ASAP as we will need to order ingredients. Also, please indicate all-grain or extract.

Just an FYI...you don't have to be a kegger to contribute beer. Bottles are fine too!
