Just curioius. I made a beer run to Quick Liquor on Green River Road tonight. They had a couple of 4-packs of 12oz. bottles of Dogfish Head World Wide Stout on the shelf. The price?????? $31.97!!!!!!
Sorry, no way is a beer worth that much.

From the Web:
At 18%, Dogfish World Wide Stout is one of the strongest beers in the world. And unlike the handful of competing beers at this strength, it tastes fantastic. This is a must try for any beer aficionado. But be warned, it is not for the faint of heart.
WorldWide Stout is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

I'm with you, that's way too much.

Can a 18+% Alc/Vol beer be balanced ... I wonder.

I'd pay that much to try a 4 pack if I had 3 other people to split the cost. I mean I have paid 8$ for a beer at a bar before so thats not much of a stretch.

Oh wait this is 3 people now, who else wants in on it? 8$ super stout anyone?

One left.

The next question is how is a beer like this best served?

Cold like a nice frothy Guinness, room temperature like a fine red wine, or somewhere in between?

Ok I sampled a single from a store in Cincinnati while I was back home. Split it with my cousin.

WOW...That is some powerful beer. I hesitate to call it beer as it resembles more of a beer flavored jagermeister type syrup. At 18% it hit me pretty hard.

The alcohol is very subdued for that level and the flavors are amazing. Like nothing I've ever tried before. So many flavors that I'm not going to attempt to explain.

That being said I'm taking applications for the lone remaining 8$ bottle. It's all hiding in the depths of my beer closet waiting to be claimed.

You know you want to try it. :beer8

If one is still available, I'll take it. I paid $7 for a 6oz pour of Dogfish 120 in Austin.

Oh well if it's your bottle and you want to pick it up just let me know.
