OVHA Bus Trip to Carbondale, IL, Sept 14

All members should have received this email this morning. Please reply to the email with your numbers! Only reply here with numbers if you did not get the email. Other discussion about the trip is fine, just not numbers or I'll lose my mind and will resort to drinking Bud Lite for the rest of my life.

As discussed at the July meeting, we are looking to do a brewery bus trip to Carbondale, Illinois on Saturday September 14. The poll indicated that this is preferred over the picnic we normally do in September.

So, I need some firm commitments to see if we can get close to filling a charter bus and making this trip happen.

Pricing is not set but we are shooting for $15 each for members and $25 each for guests and other non-members. Beer and food not included. This is for transportation only.

Itinerary is also not set but here are some potential stops:

They are doing all kinds of strange things like foraging off their farm for ingredients and wood-fire brew kettles.

Leaving at perhaps 8 a.m. and returning around 7 p.m.

Final call for those wishing to go on the road trip! Cut-off for pre-signup is THIS SUNDAY (8/18) for planning purposes.

We currenly only have 16 confirmed and 4 maybe's. This is not enough people to justify a charter bus that holds 49 people. If we don't have anymore signups, we will switch gears to one or two 15 passenge vans. We will have have to find one or two DD's for that. So keep that in mind.

Ok gang! The numbers are in and we will be taking two 15-passenger vans over.

We are looking for two sober drivers for the trip. I'm not sure what the reward will be for this heroic act but we'll figure it out.

I have set up EventBrite to manage our on-line ticket sales. I'll post and email the link shortly. I would like to use it exclusively instead of cash since it keeps track of how many open seats remain.

University of Southern Indiana (8600 University Blvd), on the far west side of Evansville.
Parking Lot G behind the Health Professions (HP) building.
As you enter campus, make a right at the Roundabout (yield to the left). Then the second left into the parking lot.
Look for the two vans.

Drop off:
We will attempt to be back by 8:30 p.m.
