Beer Tasting

Post by msjulian » Thu Oct 25, 2012 12:10 pm

After last nights meeting about the BJCP testing I got to thinking about beer tasting. At this point I don't plan on becoming a BJCP judge but I would like to work on a better pallet for the different flavor profiles. (good and bad but mostly good)

I would be very interested in getting together and have "tasting" sessions to discuss the flavor profiles of different beers. Sharing info and getting some enlightenment on tasting beer.

Didn't know if anyone else would be interested.

I'm up for it. It doesn't have to be a BJCP prep course. Best bets would be to get a group tasting of the classic example of each of the 23 styles listed in the BJCP guidelines.
Meeting once every week will still take almost 6 months...still shorter than baseball season!
You gonna buy one, or be one?
.....I'm gonna be one!

I was thinking about getting together ounce a month for a few hours and go through two or three styles. I think it would be a good learning experience to discuss the different flavor interpretations.
