Sat, Nov 5: Learn to Homebrew Day

Post by john mills » Tue Oct 18, 2011 10:43 am

It's time for AHA's Learn to Homebrew Day! http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/p ... mebrew-day
Sat, Nov 5: 9am-3pm
Liquor Locker, 4001 E. Morgan Ave. Evansville.
Bring your gear, brew some beer. Water, and electricity will be available.

Pass the word to anyone interested in how to make beer. We'll introduce them to their newest addiction....homebrewing.
Lunch will be available.
Post if you're going to be there, and what you intend to brew. Brewing is not necessary for attendance.

The weekend after Learn to Brew is Tap & Cork Fest.
I think it would be a good time to brew Seven Day Blonde. See if from brew day to empty cornie can be completed within 7 days.

I'll bring a Northern Brewer extract kit (Dead Ringer IPA) to brew.

I'll be there! Either Black Betty Milk Stout or Feckin' Tasty Irish Red will be in the kettle.
If your beer doesn't come out exactly right, call a brew-over!

Can't come out to brew, I've got a commitment at 9:30, but I'll probably be there for a while before that and maybe after the other event is over.

I will be there unless something comes up. Probably won't do a triple decoction though....

I plan on being there. Won't be bringing anything, just there to observe and learn.

I'll be there brewing Dead Ringer IPA from an extract kit. I'll also bring some copies of the "spent grain dog biscuit" recipe to hand out to guests.

Just a question: Once we use "Y" amount of space for "X" number of brewers, that parking lot at Liquor Locker gets pretty small in a hurry. Where does the management want us to park in order to leave some room for their paying customers?

How much room will we have to set up? Should we bring an ez-up or will the club canopy be setup?

To answer a couple of questions regardiong space. We park in an adjacent lot which helps with space. We have about a 20 X 30 or so area in the front corner so there should be more than adequate space. If you have a pop up canopy - bring it just in case. We will have the club canopy set up for use [10 X 20].

Will there be a grain mill there or should I crush my grains at home?
