We have the full info for Brew-B-Q! See below and post if you are going so we can plan a car pool.
Hopefully everyone already has Saturday, Oct 8th on their club calendars for this year’s Indiana Homebrew Club Day / Brew-B-Q, which will be the 5th Annual event! Everyone is excited about the move to the cooler Fall date, so it should be a great time! This year’s event will be jointly hosted by Great Fermentations and Bier Brewery, which are in the same building in Northeast Indianapolis. Both businesses will be open, so you can do some shopping at Great Fermentations and do some sampling and get a growler or two at Bier Brewery, which is making some awesome small batch beer. The plan is basically the same as previous years…
--- The event is all about celebrating homebrew club life, and our hobby of brewing beer, as well as to get to know other clubs and club members from around the state in a fun, non-competitive environment.
--- Have as many club members as possible attend the event (they will be glad they did).
--- The event runs from 1:00 to 6:00 (Central), but feel free to arrive around noon to set up if needed.
--- Bring beer to share with others. Some just bring bottles and coolers and others go all out and bring lots of kegs and elaborate bars, jockey boxes, etc. Do whatever you want, just come and bring some beer.
--- Bring a pop-up canopy or two in case it rains (it is a rain or shine event) and some chairs, your favorite drinking vessel, etc.
--- Wear your club shirt, if you have one, so we know what club you are in / where you are from.
--- FBI club member, Frank Petrarca, along with some helpers, works for days preparing a big spread of smoked meats that is awesome!
--- Other FBI club members bring various side dishes, and the club provides buns, sauces, etc.
--- I usually acquire a lot of door prizes from area breweries, liquor stores, etc., so lots of door prizes are given away (feel free to bring anything you would like to donate to the prize list).
--- The event is free to attend, but donations are very welcomed to help us pay for the meats, supplies, the port-o-let, etc. (we just want to break even… or at least not lose too much J).
--- Lastly, please drink in moderation and don’t drink and drive !!!
As everyone who has attended previous Brew-B-Q’s knows, this is a really fun day and one not to miss.
