One of my beer enthusiast co-workers brought me a 2-below ale from New Belgian in Colorado. It's considered a winter ale, but it drinks like a quality IPA. NICE beer! I wish New Belgian sold thier goods locally.

Greetings from the balcony overlooking the atlantic in virginia beach ,pecking on my pda. (technology rocks)

Just finished a St. George IPA at Abbey road pub. They have over 100 beers,but a better selection than Old Chicago.

I'll try to take a pic of the list and post it. It's right inside the door on the bar side. It's a big calendar with beers that have sold out crossed off. You can go back and get past "beer of the day" beers to fill out your passport.

Schafly's on tap at Old Chicago is very good. and Vinny's Lite at Turoni's. seems that stuff just gets better every time i visit.

im brand new to this website, but i think i've found a new home. :D

I couldn't make the Xmas meeting tonight because I was "stuck" in Indy tonight for work, but all was not lost. I had the Cask Pale dry-hopped with Fuggles and the Hoosier Ma Stout at the Rock Bottom. The Pale was pretty good, but I'm not sure if I really care for the floral character of the Fuggles when used to dry-hop. The stout was very tasty and well balanced with some nice smoke.

I also had some nice beers at BodaBoomz.(www.badaboomz.net) I had the Hoptimus from New Albania on cask, Brugge Black from Brugge Brasserie and a sample of a really good cherry Belgian. The Hoptimus was like a big hop soup, with no real discernable single hop flavor, but pretty tasty. The Brugge Black had lots of nice Belgian goodness but no real roast flavor like the color would suggest. I don't remember who made the cherry Belgian; I guess I'll have to go back tomorrow night to find out.... 8)

Here is a list of what's in my beer fridge:
St. Arnold's Alyssa IPA (yes its for charity!! all proceeds go to the restoration of a ship at Galveston)

Boulevard Stout (from St. Louis)

Guinness Bitter

and last Shiner Bock from Shiner, Texas...

yes I have been brewing for 3 or 4 years now. In Houston i belonged to several brew clubs:
Kuykendhal Grand Brewers (www.thekgb.org)
Foam Rangers
Bay area mastronauts

I have not brewed anything here since I have moved. I have finally got out of a town house and in to a house. This basement thing is coool!! I'm used to digging a hole 6" deep and it fills up with water. I am planning on putting in a lagering box down there. I also have to replace all my carboys... They were destroyed by the movers (4 6.5 Gal and 3 5gal). Some of my bigger stuff I sold off and was going to re-build after I got settled in.

On a side note I also have a still controlled by a Allen Bradley Micrologix 1200 PLC that I will be bringing up next trip back to Texas.

I also have several recipes I would be glad to share. Everything from Bitters, Stouts, IPAs, Imperial IPAs (my fav) and even a dopple bock.

Ted's Pale Ale, at the Montgomery house in Fort Mitchell KY. Good pale ale, I would have liked a little more hops on the back end, but very tasty otherwise. Especially when someone else is buying. ;-)

Allright, I finally get to make a Dwayne like post.
:razz: I spent some time in Philly last week. Boy did I find a couple cool things. First was a place dedicated to Belgium beer. :beer8 http://www.ripsneakers.com/monks/
I had the Monk's Cafe Flemish Sour Ale. Brewed just for them in Ghent, Belgium. This was quite possibly the best beer I have ever tasted. At least top 3. I put Chris' Agave Wheat up with it. And the stout that was at the party at the lake. Creamy head, sour start, awesome mouth feel, smooth finish. Anyone have a good Sour Ale recipe? :idea:
The Chimay Triple was very good as usual. They claim to sell the most of it on tap in the US, so it was fresh tasting.
I had a local beer from the Flying Fish Brewery. The Flying Fish IPA. This was outstanding as well. Real fragrant and noticeable hops. Maybe Amarillo, but I do not know my hops as well as the rest of ye. :oops:
I also had a Golden Monkey from a local brewery http://www.victorybeer.com/golden_monkey.html This was flowery and pretty light for a 9% beer. But I also thought it lacked a little of the flavor that I am used to in the bigger beers. Although two of them caused my host to exclaim rather boisterously, "We're all monkeys, we want more monkey, (insert maniacal laughter)". :beer2

Looks like I might spend the next couple of weeks working in St. Louis. Anybody got any reccomendations where I could drink my per diem allotment? I'll be staying downtown on market street, but will have a company car, if you also know of something in the general area also. I saw a brewpub listed online in O'Fallon that I thought I could hit, (we also have an office located in that town). You know..."...hemmmm...well I thought I was in the area and thought I'd give you guys a visit".
You gonna buy one, or be one?

Schafly has two locations. Beer is better in person, than in the bottle.
Also, McGuirk's Irish Pub draws a nice Guiness. It has been a long time since I lived there, and that was pre-craft brew (the dark ages).
