I can't actually recommend these, because I've never made them. But, it is an intriguing idea...

I almost positive there was an article in BYO last month on this topic. With recipes. You might check the Co-Op to see if they still have it on the bookshelf.

Made biscuits today using this recipe, they turned out pretty well I think. My dogs seem to like them at least. I was thinking they were going to be too dry to bake but it wasnt the case. I might try to modify the recipe a bit but haven't decided what to do yet.

All of that spent grain is bound to provide plenty of ruff-age.

I also made this recipe yesterday and the puppies tried them this morning for the first time. Had to do a finger count they liked them so much
Thanks again for the recipe!

Hey, I need your help. I've been asked to provide these biscuits for a dog-lovers fundraiser on November 18. How many of you could help by making some of these in the next month or so? PM me.

I'll have about 35 lbs of spent grain Saturday if anyone wants it for making dog treats. Should be available around noon.

I found a recipe for spent grain cookies. Anyone brave enough to make some?

I got this recipe from Michael Erwin. I added the "instructions for dummies".
My dogs really love them.
Ingredients:
4 cups spent grain
1 cup peanut butter
2 cups flour
2 eggs
Procedure:
Preheat oven to 350˚F. Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a large mixing bowl (remove any jewelry if mixing by hand: this mixture is VERY sticky). Press down into a dense layer on one or two large cookie sheets. Score almost all the way through into the shapes you want. Bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the biscuits from the oven and lower the oven temperature to 225˚F.
Loosen the biscuits from the sheet after they have cooled enough to handle. Break the biscuits apart, and then spread them loosely on the sheet. Return the biscuits to the oven for another 3 ½ to 4 hours (or until they are really dry). This is critical, as it slows down mold growth and extends the storage life of the finished biscuits.
Store the biscuits in an airtight container to keep them dry and to retard mold growth.
